TCC Conference 2008
The Program
The 2nd Annual TCC included four concurrent sessions held throughout the day for a total of 16 excellent sessions and a catered lunch (and fantastic networking opportunity for all). Attendees were able to network and meet technical writers from all over the country (and even some from abroad!). Plus...a special surprise at the end: http://www.whatwarzone.com/2008/03/where-do-i-find-ulpan-for-english.html.
We focused the sessions on issues of interest to both experienced and new technical writers. Most sessions aimed towards technical writers who have several years of experience and are already comfortable with the popular tools we use (Word, FrameMaker, RoboHelp, etc.). We also introduced others that may well become part of our daily lives in the near future (MadCap's Analyzer and Lingo, CMS, DITA, Adobe AIR, Adobe Flex, and the Adobe Technical Communicators Suite).

- Acrobat 3D (Shlomo Peretz, MicroType)
- Madcap Solutions (Michael Hamilton, MadCap)
- Adobe Flex, Adobe AIR, Adobe Technical Communicators Suite (Daniel Swid; Paula Stern, WritePoint)

- Accounting Issues (Yitzchak Treister)
- And more great topics coming up....
These topics were chosen because of their relevance to current trends in Technical Communications. The conference was held in Binyanei HaUma - Jerusalem's Convention Center, which offered ideal conditions for the conference. All sessions were held in large rooms, able to accommodate well over the maximum number we expected to attend. The rooms were conveniently located close to each other to enable attendees to spend the maximum time socializing and networking, rather than running from room to room.
As with last year, the catered lunch was kosher/mehadrin/glatt so that all could attend, pay one price and eat the same food (and as much as you want.
