Welcome to our Salary Survey Home Page

This is the "jumping-off" point for the Techshoret salary surveys that we plan on sponsoring regularly. So far, we have held three of them:

We have provided you with the raw data to review and decide on what trends you see. We will let you analyze the results individually. If there was a trend between our first and second surveys (December, 2008 - February 2009), it would likely have been defined by the huge increase in unemployment. By contract, the survey we took at the end of May/June 2009 didn't show a marked increase in unemployment. Rather, it showed a marked drop in salaries.

For this survey, to make it easier for people to correlate their experience and salaries to the ones in the survey, we have broken the results down by years of experience.

Where the totals for any category reach above 100%, please note that this is because we allowed people to select more than one option (you can say you work in more than one place, for example), or that you are both a salaried employee and a freelancer. In any case, we hope these numbers are helpful and interesting to you and thank all those who participated.

For the latest survey, we have deleted the question of where you live (you know it already and while it was interesting for the first two surveys, it doesn't really offer any major benefit. We also added a comment section to this last survey. Comments for the June, 2009 Survey can be viewed here - they are, in many ways, as interesting as the raw numbers that appear in the link above.
