The One Family Israel Solidarity Fund was created in response to the ongoing tragedies affecting families and children in Israel caused by terrorism. The fund promotes the long-term physical and emotional health, educational, housing, income maintenance and other needs of survivors and their families. Zihui Korbanot Ason.(ZAKA)This is the organization of incredible individuals who do the most difficult (Physically and emotionally taxing work) after a terrorist incident. These are the folks that collect the remains personal effects that are thrown hundreds of feet away. Members of this organization also rush to the scene of almost every fatality to ensure that the remains are treated with the proper respect and dignity. They help the wounded and do amazing acts of kindness. They are continually short of funds for basic equipment and maintenance for communication equipment. Most members pay for their own pagers and MIRS units, as well as for basic supplies such as paper towels, absorbent cotton and gloves. They don't have enough ambulances and so often have to drive their own personal vehicles to disaster sites. Contributions can be made to:

NAVAH (Non-profit Association for Volunteering and Assisting the Hurt) bases our assistance on Bikur Cholim, listening to and speaking with terror victims across the country. We provide financial and practical assistance to help them make ends meet and relieve other concerns while they concentrate on recuperation. Major Hospitals in Israel. Their emergency room staffs are stretched to the limit. For example, Shaarei Tzedek and Hadassah Hospitals in Jerusalem. See the website www.jr.co.il for access to Israel's hospitals.

Magen David Adom, Israel's emergency vehicle/ambulance organization. They have had many ambulances stolen, and due to the high rate of terrorist incidents have been unable to replenish their supplies as quickly as they need to. Special bulletproof ambulances are needed in Judea, Samaria and Gaza and these are extremely expensive. Make buying one a community fund-raising project.

National Police Forceof Israel who desperately need more bullet proof vests.

One Israel Fund.This organization is currently raising money to buy bulletproof vests, armoured vehicles to the "Yesha" communities: the territories. This non-profit fund has already managed to provide 60 life-saving vehicles and 750 bulletproof vests for members in these communities. There are over 225,000 Jews living in these sections of Israel, and their needs are enormous. You can find out more about them at www.oneisraelfund.org

The Koby Mandel Foundation, in memory of a 14-year-old Tekoa boy who, with a friend, was bludgeoned to death in a gully near his home. This foundation gives counseling and other aid to children who are victims or whose family members were victims. You can donate through the Jerusalem Post Funds.
