A Short Note About Techshoret
Techshoret is an email discussion list dedicated to serving the needs of technical writers in Israel. It has existed for well over a decade. As of November, 25, 2010, we had 2010 members in our Yahoo Group (a number that is constantly on the rise! For the last few years, Techshoret has hosted an annual conference, bringing together technical writers and other professionals interested in networking, learning about the latest technologies and trends in our field. In 2012, we have taken the important step towards adding MARCOM professionals, believing that these two audiences have much in common. Our SIXTH annual conference will be held on February 16, 2012 at Jerusalem Renaissance Hotel in Jerusalem. We hope you’ll join us. The registration is now open. Learn more about registration details here.

Techshoret began as (and remains) an online community of technical writers based in Israel and elsewhere. This means we care about each other, we share the events that are common to our community in a way that no other technical writing community can. For this reason, we have sections on this website about Israel, about members of our community that have been taken from us, either by illness or by terrorism, and we have information about our country.
In the last nine years, we expanded Techshoret activities to include this website, which hosts the invaluable Techshoret Resume Database, several events in the Jerusalem area and elsewhere, and as of last year, four full-day conferences dedicated to issues of interest. We’ve been running regular Salary Surveys for the last two years, the latest held in November, 2010.
For those looking for employment…and those looking for a technical writer, a graphic artist, a translator, programmer, web designer, etc. to hire for in-house work or on a project base, the Techshoret Resume Database contains dozens of resumes of talented people who are available to deliver their services.
Ultimately, this Web site furthers the goals of our community by offering information about the list. For more information, see:

Techshoret, a play on the Hebrew word for “communication” currently has over 2,000 list members. The list is often the first stop for a writer with a question about a tool or terminology question; the perfect place for an employer to announce a new job opportunity or find a technical writer to fill a job opening. We are always looking for new additions to our Web site.
If you have a resource, job position, upcoming event, or something of interest, please send a message to our Webmaster.
